The IPS – SURINERTS^® Division specializes in the research, development and industrial-scale production of pharmaceutical inert pellets, designed to meet the requirements of controlled-release and solid oral dosage formulations.
Our development and manufacturing approach is structured, sequential and quality-driven, with each phase carried out under strict regulatory and process controls to ensure consistency, reliability and compliance at every stage.

Technical and Regulatory Assessment

We assess the customer’s intended pharmaceutical application, technical requirements and quality expectations to identify the most appropriate inert core. Our team also supports regulatory evaluations through available technical documentation, product specifications and Drug Master File (DMF) information, where applicable.

Particle Size (Mesh Size) Selection and Formulation Compatibility Evaluation

We assist customers in selecting the most suitable particle size and mesh range according to their specific manufacturing processes. Key parameters include particle size distribution, sphericity, flowability, mechanical resistance and suitability for subsequent drug layering or functional coating processes.

Identification of the Most Suitable Standard, Special or Customized Inert Core Solution

Based on the customer’s formulation requirements, we identify the most appropriate pharmaceutical-grade sugar spheres or tartaric acid pellets. Our portfolio includes standard grades, special particle size distributions and customized solutions for specific technical applications.

Customized Production Evaluation, When Required

When standard products do not fully meet the customer’s needs, we evaluate the feasibility of manufacturing customized pharmaceutical inert cores. This assessment considers raw material composition, particle size distribution, physical characteristics and quality specifications, together with industrial production requirements and technical feasibility.

Industrial Manufacturing Support and Supply of Qualified Inert Cores

We support pharmaceutical manufacturers from initial material selection through to routine industrial supply, ensuring consistent product specifications, batch traceability and appropriate quality documentation. Our manufacturing experience and established quality systems support reliable supply and long-term collaboration with pharmaceutical customers.

During project development, IPS supports pharmaceutical companies in identifying the most suitable sugar sphere or tartaric acid pellet grade according to the required mesh size, application requirements and manufacturing process. Our portfolio includes standard, special and customized solutions. IPS supplies inert cores and excipients only and does not perform API drug layering activities on customer products.
